Description
In February 2016 I was on a cruise ship that spent approximately 6 hours circling the Island of Stromboli. Stromboli is a small island in the Tyrrhenian Sea, off the north coast of Sicily, containing one of the three active volcanoes in Italy. There are two villages San Bartolo and San Vincenzo that lie in the northeast of the island and another smaller village Ginostra lies in the southwest. Mt. Stromboli has been in almost continuous eruption for the past 2,000 years. Here is a photo of the volcanic activity of Mt. Stromboli.
